Another Tweed Skirt

Item #9 Tweed Skirt

I kinda had to dig around in my closet for this piece for the 10and2. The problem is that I am a very opinionated person so things either STAY or get TOSSED very few things wait around in limbo for any length of time. I think I only manage to keep friends because my strong opinions fall into the category ‘OMG that is SO COOL!’ about 80% of the time. I am also a loud person, sorry if you have ever been in the same restaurant as me. I’m one of those people at that table that you can’t possibly believe is having that much fun. (We are.)

This skirt I have had FOREVER, I just don’t think it ‘fits’ in my closet any more. Maybe I should have tried harder to make it look good (or less hard) but I’m thinking this skirt is a dud.

Tweed Skirt: Don’t remember because it’s so OLD, Shirt: Thrifted, Shoes: Tsubo, Vest: NY&C, Necklace: Just Creations

10 and 2 Item #8: The Blueberry Dress

I bought this at a local consignment store (Cherry Bomb) that sells a lot of things that have been refashioned. This dress was obviously one of those things. I LOVE the color. But something about the cut of the dress at the waist/bust I just don’t like, the fabric is also kinda thin, clingy, and itchy. I get complements on it every time I wear it out though. Because everyone loves a bright blue dress apparently. However, I think this one might be headed to the give-away pile to make room in the closet for a dress that I love more.

Dress: Cherry Bomb, Leggings: Target I think, Shoes: Old Navy, Black Under Shirt: Target, Velvet Blazer: Cherry Bomb, Scarf: Avatar Imports via Just Creations

Also once again, there are some changes going down with the layout around here. So if something looks a little wonky that is why.

You Don’t Have to Put on That Red Light

Ok so nothing about this outfit resembles a hooker. But I think that every lady needs a red dress. I have two.

This is the lesser of the two, it was free for me a friend thrifted it even though it wasn’t in her size (not sure why you would do that but it worked in my favor). As much as I think it SHOULD suit me, the right color, a flattering shape & length, I just don’t get a happy fuzzy feeling when I put it on. Am I crazy? Is this dress secret awesome? Maybe I am just bad at ‘styling’ things like this. I think this is actually the first time I’ve worn it with heels and that definitely helped ‘class it up’.

Dress: The Loft via Thrift store, Belt: Urban Outfitters, Necklace: Target (it broke a little), Shoes: Sears (I think)

Is this a keeper? How would you wear a red shirt dress?

Blue and Coral

I’ve seen this dark blue + coral combo around the internet and I wanted to try it. Even though I’m pretty sure all of the other participants are finished I am still working through the 10 and 2 challenge that Megan created. This is the next installment.

#6 Blue Fluttery Top

So I wore this blue top on the blog WAY back when none of you were reading it. It was THOSE PHOTOS that made me go ‘Oh, maybe that shirt should be retired’. They were not very flattering. I decided to give the top another go… And the outfit is STILL not flattering. I think this shirt was meant for another girl. It is sitting in my Goodwill pile now.

Here it is untucked. Still not looking cute.

Blue Jeans

Item #5: Boot Cut Jeans

I sound like such a trend-a-holic when I say this. But I do not like boot cut jeans any more. I just never ever wear these and they’ve been sitting in my closet for like… years. Basically unworn. I really own 1 other pair of blue jeans, some ‘Always Skinnies’ from the Gap and that’s really all I ever wear. I do however have two pairs of bright colored pants that I love.

Sweater: Thrifted, Shoes: Shoe Carnival, Jeans: The Gap

I kind of want to make these ‘skinnes’ and then dye them a color (maybe purple). But I’m afraid I’ll ruin my ‘nice jeans’ and turn them into something horribly trendy that I won’t be able to wear once 2011 is over if I do. What do you think? To alter or not to alter?

Something NOT on the list but maybe should be. This sweater. Got it at Goodwill. It is HAND KNIT, and has soccer players on it. it’s a little short. I almost wish it were shorter so that it would just be a cropped ¾ length sleeve sweater. Instead I just wear it and revel in how awesome it is instead of worrying that I might look silly :)
