Work-to-Play: Black Shirt & Neutral Heels

Continuing my ‘feature’ from last week. This ‘work to play’ is focusing on a black button down (that I’ve owned forever) and a pair of neutral heels (3$ at Zappos Outlet say what?). Because they are both ‘wardrobe staples’ and here is why look how easy they are to match up with different outfits.


For work. Add a purple skirt (thrifted) and simple dangly necklace (Just Creations). Looking elegant and ready for business.

For play. Red corduroy shorts (they were 1$ and I’m pretty sure it’s illegal in 17 states to NOT buy 1$ red corduroy shorts that fit you) I didn’t want to go to jail so I bought them. Polka dot suspenders that you cannot convince your boyfriend to wear also thrifted (1$). Looking hot and ready to get down to bid-nez. (Which brings this outfit to a total of about 13$ ;)

I know that these shorts are very short. It’s PROBABLY inappropriate but you are only young and hot and self secure for a short period of time right? Plus we were going ‘clubbing’… Which for us involves getting mexican food and then dancing the night away wherever there is a ladies night and we can get in for free!

      I mostly thrift in the ‘small town’ where I work, so they have load of cheap things there. Even at the Goodwills the prices are lower than ‘in the city’. Totally worth a little bit of driving.

    The red shorts and suspenders are so cute together! I still haven’t found the right red shorts yet, and I look often! So yes, you did have to buy those. Good red shorts can be hard to find.

    Nice office look too…I like how the necklace looks with the black shirt, and the skirt is a great shade of purple.
