A Winter ‘Clubbing’ Outfit

Boots: Etsy, Shorts: Gap cut-offs, Tanks & Cardigan: Old Navy, Comfy Old Man Sweater: Thrifted

In the name of full disclosure I did NOT wear this outfit this weekend except for a few hours sitting on the couch with the boy. But every time I’ve worn it out it’s been much to dark outside to take decent photos because this has become my go-to ‘winter bar outfit’. Like a lot of people I enjoy going out for a drink on a regular basis, and like a lot of other women I sometimes like to put on something a little revealing. I usually don’t post them here in case my mother or employer happen to be reading. But the problem with revealing outfits is that… they are cold. And it is winter time.

My happy medium is leggings, cow-lady boots (which is what I call cowgirl boots with a heel that is WAY to large to be wearing on a real farm) shorts, a couple tanks, cardigan, and big comfy old man sweater. It’s really easy to strip down a few layers when you get into the bar, the more Karaoke you sing the warmer the bar gets. The pieces are pretty interchangeable meaning I look a little different every time we go out. Also please note the cool looped together necklaces.

Also! I nearly forgot! Notice anything new, different and exciting? Might be hard to tell from these photos. But I’ve got a new hair color. It’s pretty subtle (even in person) but it’s much redder and a little darker than it used to be. I walked ALL the way down to the Walgreens (four blocks) and picked up some color last weekend. I was going to post a stop motion video of the coloring but then I got sick last week. :(

I think it still needs a little trim, so no worries my shaggy headed bowl cut goodness will soon be gone.

Love the layering – definitely a cute look for winter nights out. Your hair looks cute this color, like the red in it… ;)

I was inspired by all you ‘real gingers’. It’s definitely an unnatural obviously dyed color, but I think I like it.

Those boots are awesome, and I love the necklace too (is it the same one you wore for your flapper outfit? Because it would’ve been perfect.)

I stacked a couple necklaces for the flapper necklace and I’m pretty sure this was one of them.

Love your new hair colour, it’s a subtle change but it really matters a lot!
I can’t wait to karaoke again! I only went once in my life and though I was scared to death I loved it when it was over. :D

I’ve posted your guest appearance on my blog, by the way! :)

    • http://hal.cyondays.com Loren Cline

The guest appearance looks AWESOME. And p.s. karaoke is the best. There will be a day I don’t feel like singing in front of strangers but I haven’t met that day yet.

Hi Loren! How goes? I think you have new hair? Love it! Navy and Fuschia are pretty together, but I am nuts over your cow-lady (hee-hee) boots. Happy belated 2012, friend!

The cow-lady boots make me ‘normal sized’ so I think they are keepers.

Love your “go to” bar outfit – I definitely have one of those :) And those boots are really cute!

It’s so much easier to get dressed on the fly when you have a back up plan waiting in your head.

Yeehaw I love your ‘cowlady’ boots! ;) I really love your new hair colour- I’ve been thinking about putting more red into my hair-hmmm…

    • http://hal.cyondays.com Loren Cline

DO IT. I’m a red head now and I FEEL much sexier.

In ancient times, odes would have been written to celebrate your cuteness. Nice hair color.

Maybe comedic Odes. The face that launched a thousand ships. (IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!!! LOLOLO)

Loren, cute poses! You look so confident–I love it!! :D
I’m a fan of shorts and tights too. Never tried shorts and leggings. But I think it could work! Also, you have the most gorgeous figure!

Love the new hair color on you ;) I was about to say, is the weather that warm over there but I see you threw on some cardis! Love those cowboy boots and your poses too.

It IS crazy warm for Jan. it’s been in the 50′s most of this week. Weirdness for my area. But makes only wearing a cardigan with no real jacket totally acceptable.

    Those boots are amazing!!
I’m loving the red tone to your hair too xo

SUPER jealous of your old man sweater. I am dying for something like that to cuddle up in lately. And I love the term “cow-lady” boots. I’m on the hunt for some cowboy boots and I’ve totally thought that ones with higher heels do not deserve the term cowboy.

Old man sweaters are really easy to find in areas around me. You need to thrift them ‘off season’ sometimes though. Maybe old men where you live just have better taste in clothes.
