Another Day, Another Dress with a Belted Blazer on Top

Dress & Blazer: Thrifted, Belt & Shoes: Target, Scarf & Hat: Just Creations

I’ve accidentally on purpose worn very similar outfit every day for the past week or so, dress + belted blazer. It’s a combination of trying to wear all my cute dresses, and trying to stay warm. I pass all of my ‘fashion credit’ to Caitlin, who I think is the queen of the belted blazer.

A lot of internet ladies LOVE their cardigans. I’ve just never figured out how to wear them. I just think I look kind of strange in a cardigan. I think it’s because I have smallish shoulders, and a lot of stuff going on in the… you know… chest area. Believe me I am not complaining, I’m pretty much totally happy with my figure. However I think it throws off the proportions of certain items of clothing, like cardigans. I think the extra definition, and width that a blazer gives me is just more flattering on my figure. But maybe I am wrong and the one & only cardigan I own should have more friends in the closet.

Love this blazer and it’s perfect with a belt. Also, those tights totally bring this outfit from cute to super cute. Great touch!

This silhouette is so lovely on you, Stick with what works! My favorite part is the hat. So cozy.

The hat is real wool too, so it’s crazy warm, I’ve been wearing it everywhere this winter.

Hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! I think you look great in the dress-with-belted-blazer combo. And those tights? Swoon.

    i love those red tights!

I think I’m the other way around – I have broad shoulders and a long torso, so belted blazers look kinda awkward on me. But it’s great that you figure out a formula that works for you!

I thought I was crazy, but I met another short busty lady and she hates cardigans too. That is when I figured it must be those attributes that make the cardigan look ‘off’.

I love belted blazers, but I never feel like the work really well on me – i usually keep my blazers open.
belted cardigans, however, i do all the time.

Different strokes for different folks :) I love the way belted cardigans look on other ladies, I just can’t seem to find one I think looks good on me.

If it’s possible I love this one even more than the others you’ve done this week. I think it’s the hat, scarf, and tights– all great colors. Try a v neck cardigan sometime! You might find it flatters you more. The neckline’s shaped a little more like a blazer.

The one cardigan I do have is a v-neck. I’ll keep my eye out for more, I think maybe they just aren’t my ‘style’.

Ack you look adorable!!! I love the hat + glasses combo. Serious so so so cute!

I think blazers are always more flattering, especially belted. Cardigans are easier to wear though, imo, which I suppose is why I own many cardigans and only one blazer! I really should thrift for some more though…yours is so adorable and so versatile!

I agree with the glasses and beret comments, this combination is so cute! And although I’ve rarely tried putting a belt over an outer layer, I have to say, I think belts look better over blazers than they do over cardigans, actually…I mean, the belt’s structured, the blazer’s structured. You’re making me want to find a blazer and belt it.
