Everyone Agrees You Are the Best.

Skirt: Body Central, Tights: Old Navy, Shirt: Levi’s, Boots: Sears I think

Last Friday we saw a play. This is what I wore. I got a lot of complements from my lovely friends. So I put it back on Sunday evening and took photos. Then our friend stopped by to watch Paranormal Activity 3. I am such a pansy, that it gave me some nightmares.

I’ve been working on an invite for Kent’s birthday party next month. Sometimes I work on files & send them to myself via email to access from a different computer. So I can transfer files from work to home & back again. Yes, there are a million easier ways to do this, (Huh? What? A flash drive?) but I have been doing it this way since middle school and old habits die hard.

Usually I just send myself a message with the files attached and a blank subject line. But lately inspired by all the cute motivational quotes in Pinterest I’ve started addressing myself with complements so the first thing I see when I open my Gmail account are nice things about me. It makes me grin every time. I suggest this habit for other people, it’s the technophiles version of leaving inspiring post-it notes on your bathroom mirror.

P.S. My fortune cookie from a couple weeks ago read Everyone agrees you are the best. it’s more of a ‘compliment cookie’ than a fortune but I still tacked it up in my cubicle to make me smile.

oh…that is such a cute idea…to send yourself sweet messages. yes gorgeous you look great in that outfit. I like the floral vintage styled skirt with the fabulous tights. I love the peekaboo design at the back too.

Thanks darlin’! The shirt is super soft & comfy too, so it’s pretty much my favorite thing in my closet right now.

This look is wonderful! One of my favorite of yours! That skirt is wonderful and beautiful on you and I love the back of the top and those tights make the outfit wonderful and different.

I tried on about 12 pairs of tights before I decided that these are the best.

That’s a good idea! I don’t even leave inspiring post-it for myself (always risk the chance of my roommates finding them and thinking I’m narcissistic), but this way only I can see them.

Also, call me weird but I hate those “fact/complement” fortune cookies. It’s a fortune cookie, so give me a fortune, damn it!

I totally agree about the cookies! Except that ‘Everyone agrees you are the best (in bed)’ was super amazing.

LOVE that skirt Loren – so pretty! And I refuse to watch the paranormal movies, or any scary movies, because the hubs travels a lot for work and I get super creeped out!

Ugh, if I didn’t have a dog & a BF living with me I would NOT be willing to watch any scary movies.

I want a compliment cookie! My fortune cookies are always weird things that don’t make much sense.
I LOVE your skirt. It looks fantastic on you!

Even when the cookies say weird things you have to be sure to add (in bed) to the end. It pretty much always makes them funny.

    Love that skirt!

Haha! I totally do that when I email myself. Sadly, back in college when I wanted to make myself do something for class that I knew I wouldn’t want to do, my subject lines would look more like this: “Don’t be stupid, STUDY!” or “Get off your but and READ!” Haha!

Oh, and I know old habits die hard, but have you heard of DropBox? You can have ALL of your files no matter where you are, and it’s free :) http://db.tt/p1sMNYQ

Yeah, that would probably be a good idea but my company has this weird ‘no uploads’ thing that lets me attach files to emails but not upload files to pretty much any website. I should probably understand the technical aspect behind it but I don’t care enough to find out. But I can’t even upload a picture to flickr so I doubt it’ll let me Dropbox.

Lame! Oh well, I’m sure your way works just fine :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I really appreciate it, and I love your blog. This skirt is awesome! But I totally loved the email idea. I email myself all the time and I think that is a wonderful way to brighten up my day :)
