Giving Thanks

Today is Thanksgiving in America. I’m embracing the motivations behind this holiday to celebrate all the amazing things that I am grateful to have in my life and take a moment to give thanks for the many fantastic things that just seem to overwhelm my life. In no particular order. No outfit pictures today because I am to busy eating to much food to stop and take pictures of how cute I look in my pants with an expandable waist-band.

  1. Karaoke
  2. Funny Cat Photos
  3. A certain Curly-Haired-Boy
  4. Netflix Instant View (I’m going to watch ALL the things)
  5. My coworkers put most of their music collections available through the network so every time I get an itching to listen to something specific I can usually find it.
  6. The cutest dog (he’s mine, not yours)
  7. Kitty Cuddles
  8. Disposable Income
  9. A family that knows how to cook (even if I don’t)
  10. Having the time, money, & energy to volunteer or donate to causes that mean the most to me.
  11. You guys. OMG YOU ARE THE BEST. I always thought the internet was full of angry mean people I guess that’s what I get for reading to many comments on YouTube videos. Thanks for being awesome.

A Couple Thanks & Things

In the last couple weeks I’ve had several bloggers give me shout-outs, I wanted to say thanks loads, you guys are all so sweet. I’m not used to this type of attention but it always makes me feel like breaking into some type of show tune. Not something depressing like Spring Awakening or All That Jazz though, one of the happy ones, like Music Man.

Kate – Thinks I am ‘Flirty Geek Chic’ and then threatened to steal my dog O.o    Kate is still pretty new to blogging but I still think her style & blog are pretty chic.

Heather -Listed me in her October Favorites! I <3 this girl, she’s so sweet and fun. Also we have similar hair, am I the only person who feels an automatic companionship with someone who has a similar haircut? Or are you guys all just muttering ‘Freak’ and hitting the ‘Close Browser’ button?

Shana – Loved our Halloween costumes enough to name me ‘Member of the Week’ (Because they were amazing.) Shana is beautiful, and awesome, and hosts a Thrifters Anonymous linkup every week. Because she’s cool like that.

Ally - Send me a virtual & IRL thanks you note for the shoes I gifted! Ally is such a sweet kind hearted person. It’s hard NOT to love her.

Emma - Pinned me. I feel like Kim from Bye Bye Birdie! (To many musical references in one post you say? Whatev’s! No such thing!) Emma is such a cutie, and one of my best blogger buddies.  I saw it and MAYBE sang this song for the rest of the day.

Weekend Lists

Some weekends I have so much planned that all I have time to do in the morning is grab a quick shower and then run out the door. Other weekends I stay out so late that by the time I get out of bed the morning is gone.

Other weekends I have a little time to make some breakfast (oatmeal), have a glass of tea (although I haven’t learned to make homemade chai yet), and sit down to make a list of things to do and listen to my favorite NPR programs. This was one of those weekends.

To Do List:

  1. Some awesome DIY art that I pinned from Elsie’s blog. (Done, I’ll write about it later too! Turned out awesome!)
  2. Address and send my birthday invites
  3. Rearrange and touch up paint in the living room. Since we got a new couch a couple weeks ago the room needs an update. (Started but not finished.)
  4. Work on Party Jars for birthday. (Not quite done.)
  5. Inspiration Monday Photos (I wore something out sat night but didn’t get a chance to take photos.
  6. What’s in your bag post. (Haven’t even started).
  7. Write and schedule some blog posts for later this week! (Not done yet!)
So even though I stayed pretty busy yesterday… still loads to do! And it is already almost 1:30!

The Old Saying?

Isn’t there some type of saying? ‘The more stuff you do the more you have to blog about, but the less time you have to blog?’ I do not have any new outfit posts today because I’ve been shoppings, and hanging with friends, and picnicking and roadtripping!

But I have tons of stuff to talk about when I get back from the road trip!

In the meantime. Look how big my dogs MOUTH is! Kinda like ‘Unglm‘ Fizzgig from the Dark Crystal.

21.) Sunday Brunch

There is a really amazing local bakery/cafe called Ermin’s. There was one really near where I work, and Curly-haired-boy and I would meet there on my lunch break at least twice a week. That location had to close, but there are others in town. So we headed down town for Sunday brunch last weekend. This is what I wore out. The food was amazing s always and since it was brunch time we got some breakfast pastries two for the price of one. :)
