Last Sweater Until Fall

Sorry, everything here is from a Thrift Store.

I was a little worried that red pants + red boots would look strange but I’ve decided they just look awesome instead. I think this will be the last sweater worn until the fall. The weather got crazy warm here last week and it seems like it is here to stay. We spent a very rainy, 83 degree, St. Patrick’s day watching Season 6 of Doctor Who on Netflix. But we are only about half way through so please don’t ruin anything for me.

I wanted to say thanks everyone for the nice comments on Friday, I took some time off from the internet but also pretty much fixed up my portfolio. There are still a few small tweeks to be made. If you guys feel like checking it out I’d love to know what you guys think.

Funky Sweater & a Floral Skirt

Sweater: Thrifted, Skirt: Body Central, Tights: Target (several seasons ago), Boots: Chinese Laundry

Ian-Dog and I have been working on ‘leash-less walking’ not far (and when there are other people or animals around he goes back on the leash) but in the little alley behind our apartment complex we’ve been walking without one. Hence this photo of me yelling ‘get back over here’ as he wanders a little bit to far away. All my classiness caught on camera.

I’ve really been rocking the super bright tights lately.

I bought this adorable little skirt at Body Central, that kind of obnoxious store in the mall that specializes in club wear. My friend wanted us to go clubbing with some of her co-workers. I didn’t really find anything ‘club worthy’ because everything I tried on made me feel really uncomfortable about my body. But this skirt was to cute to pass up. Even though it is rather short. But that just means I probably CAN wear it to the night-clubs sometime.

I ended up not going out to the ‘clubs’ on Friday, even after all that work shopping. A big group and I ended up seeing Curly-haired-boy’s comedy show instead. I ordered a delicious salad from a restaurant that I know & love, a gin & tonic, then a rum, coke & grenadine. And later that night had terrible nightmares that the comedians from the show followed us home, insisted on having an after party at our place and refused to leave when I asked nicely. NO MORE GRENADINE BEFORE BED FOR LOREN!

Open to Interpretation

Green Dress: Thrifted, Sweater: Thrifted, Shoes: Target

This is something I probably wouldn’t have picked out except for Kayla’s winter challenge. But I kind of love it. Then, I was afraid that maybe I only loved it because I’m totally infatuated with this sweater & green dress. But I know that it must look good because I got TWO really nice complements while eating lunch and reading Pride & the Prejudice. Which seems like I am trying to sound like an intellectual but I got a Kindle for Christmas and all the Jane Austen stuff could be downloaded for free. I’m not an erudite I’m just cheap. And I’m just genuinely enjoying this book. So ROMANTIC, perfect book for February, the month of LOVE.

Wearing too Many Colors

Blazer, Sweater, Boots, Belt: Thrifted, Skirt: Homemade, Hat: Pretty Colorful Vintage

I wasn’t really happy with this outfit, classic case of ‘Loren is running really late and didn’t plan anything the night before. BUT while I was taking these photos a man in a van pulled up beside me and I was like ‘Oh snap! I’m ‘bout to get kidnapped!’ but then he pulled out this MASSIVE telescopic lens and asked if I was photographing the water fowl. I said no (see the man made lake behind me), but he still let me look through his telescope at the ducks. And told me all about the geese who lived in the pond. Did you guys know there are a LOT of different kinds of ducks? I thought it was pretty much ‘Wood duck’ and ‘Mallards’ because those are the only ones I’ve ever seen around here. But he pointed out three other types of ducks and two types of geese. That’s when I left because any more knowledge would have made my games of duck, duck, goose much more complicated.

Like that time I learned to play ‘paper, rock, scissors, lizard, Spock’.

Happy Friday everyone, hope you all have amazing weekend plans!

Old Man Sweater

Hair Bow: Homemade, Shirt & Leggings: Target, Sweater & Boots: Thrifted, Cut-offs: Old Gap Jeans

I bought this funky old man sweater for an ugly sweater party a couple years ago about the same time that everyone decided wear ugly sweaters ironically. So… I get to wear this amazing, warm, comfy number all the time now. Usually like this with shorts or a skirt just so people know I don’t actually have any grandchildren (just a dog).

I took these photos on Sunday afternoon, right before I headed indoors to write some blog posts take a 3 hour nap (whoops). The next morning I woke up with the WORST sinus infection I’ve had in years. I popped a bunch of allergy medicine and am mostly OK now, but ultimately I have to blame it on playing in the leaves.

However this animated gifs make it all  worth it. :)
