My Favorite Scarf

Vest: NY&C, Pants: Gap, Shirt: Levi, Scarf: Just Creations (Fair Trade), Boots: Some store in the mall

I think every lady has that one item in their closet that they turn to to add a little extra ‘oomph’ to their outfits when they are feeling a little drab.

This scarf is mine, it always makes me feel a little more dressed up. And a little bit like a bandit. I could definitely rob a bank in wild west the 1890′s with this scarf. I’d ride in on a horse in my bandana, and ride out with one of those big bags of gold coins with dollar signs on the side.

Also the horse is a palomino and it’s name is Caramel, because that is what 8-year-old Loren wanted to name her horse before I actually met a few horses and discovered I’m a little bit scared of them. They are just so BIG, and look pretty much nothing like My Little Ponies.

Having to Spend Each Day the Color of the Leaves

Pants: The Gap, Shoes & Shirt: Thrifted, Jacket: Target, Scarf: Ten Thousand Villages

Wanna discuss how I still can’t seem to focus a camera to save my life?

These shoes have been sitting in my closet for a couple months now, I picked them up (lace-less) at Goodwill a while ago because I was on the hunt for some black oxford type shoes. When I tried to buy some laces at Target I literally knocked these babies off they shelf. They were only a dollar more than the Goodwill ones. So I threw these casually into my ‘give-away’ pile. Then I ran across this pin. I went home THAT NIGHT and threaded some fabric laces into the shoes. I used some of the extra fabric from this skirt.

So this is my green ‘St Pattie’s Day’ outfit. St. Patrick’s day is the weirdest holiday we American’s celebrate. On a day that should celebrate one man’s devotion to his faith, and ability to drive snake off an island, we go out and get plastered.

I’m not much of a party girl, sure I love some karaoke, but two or three drinks in one night causes me strange sugar & alcohol fueled nightmares. So when it comes to the ‘high holidays’ of drinking, (Marty Gras, St. Patrick’s Day, Spring Break) I tend to be more of a ‘celebrate from home with a pint of ice cream’ type of girl.

I think the rest of my indifference comes from the fact there is no candy for St. Patrick’s day. If we had some delicious chocolate shamrocks, or maybe gummy snakes associated with the holiday I would be more faithful about celebrating.

Also, I hate getting pinched.

Green: Everybody, Everywear

Scallops & Lace

Tops: Thrifted, Skirt: Altered Hand-me down, Tights & Belt: Target, Shoes: Zappos outlet

I do follow the trends but I’m not the type of girl to run out and buy things the minute they show up in magazines fashion blogs (I never read magazines). Like shear lacy shirts, and scallop edged things. Which is why I have just now decided to jump onto both of those bandwagons, at the SAME TIME. I know that I’m full a season late, but it’s just that I’m SO cool that I’m even fashionable late to the fashion trends. I picked these up for three dollars each at Goodwill last week. Something about this outfit makes me feel really… small.

So what do you guys think, does scallops & lace sound more like an awesome music duo or a seafood dish at a fancy restaurant?

Not Velma Dinkley

Sweater & Skirt: Thrifted, Socks & Shoes: Target, Scarf, Gloves & Hat: Just Creations

Friday I was feeling a little bit ‘Halloween’ so I threw on this orange sweater and brown skirt. I realized I looked a whole lot like Velma Dinkley. So I grabbed my gray knee socks and black flats. The rest of my accessories were just for keeping me warm. All of them are Alpaca wool, and fair trade. They are very warm and the scarf has held up for about four winters now.

Since I volunteer at the fair trade store, every year I’ve been treating myself to a ‘set’ of winter accessories (one item per shift). All of them are high quality, 100% llama wool and fair trade. This is winter #3! (I haven’t decided what I want yet ;)

Halloweens of Days Gone Past

Paper Bead Necklace: Just Creations, Shirt: New York & Company, Belt: Thrifted, Skirt: Hand-me Down, Shoes: Sears

I found these photos and thought I’d already posted them, but nope. So here they are. I was running really late and just tossed these two things on. I don’t think I’ve ever actually worn this combo before, but I really liked it. Thanks blog, for helping me expand my remixing skills.

I just finished up our Halloween costumes. I love this Holiday because I love playing dress-up, but I’ve never been good at the ‘sexy costumes’ here are some photos from previous years.

Me as a 'Biker Mouse From Mars' (Anyone else remember that cartoon?) My friends are a sexy lady bug & a sexy devil...

Although this is technically from our trip to Dragon*Con last year this was my Jubilee Costume from last year. People at Dragon*Con LOVED this costume. I never spoke to this Wolverine ever again.

From '08, Curly-haired-boy dressed up like the Joker for me. But everyone else did that year too.

From '07/06 Velma (the smart chick from Scooby Doo), check out my hair, I thought it was mad cool at the time.
